"The moments of perfection….. Paintings are a map of your inner being”"

- Agnes Martin

Laura de Wilde is a Dutch visual artist working from her studio in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Her works emerge from intuition and coincidence; the ideas and effects arise organically until there is the right mix of colour, light, movement, structure, sensitivity and sequence.

‘Most inspiration mostly comes from nature; it’s a rich resource in terms of colour, obviously, but foremost in terms of structure and order and visual experience. In my works there is harmony and decorative qualities however I always search for and aim to evoke a mystical energy.’ Titles are never attributed to Wilde’s works, instead, she uses numbers, in hope that viewers can meet with and observe her work without bias.

‘It is to do with synchronicity; everything is intertwined, from strokes, structures to shadows, from carriers to paints and pigments, to frame or no frame and so to end result. Whatver happens along the way is what needs to happen.’
